South Oakland Shelter (SOS), with the assistance of South Oakland's county multi-faith community network, has been addressing the issues impacting the homeless since 1985. S.O.S. provides shelter, meals and case management services for individuals and families. S.O.S. goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment that empowers the homeless to become productive and independent citizens.
