CHURCH ADMINISTRATION MINISTRY

General Mission: To organize and maintain the administrative functions of Heritage Church of Christ.

Our contact elder is Don Smith.

Church Administration Leaders: Dave Harvill and Vicki Harvill

In 1 Corinthians 12:12 Paul writes that "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body."

Later, in the same chapter, verse 27, Paul writes, "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." Paul then lists a variety of spiritual gifts in verse 28. Included in the list is the gift of Administration.

It was difficult to come up with an explanation of how important this ministry is to the function of our church body. We are going to borrow an analogy that Nancy Benavides used. If we consider ourselves parts of a body, those of us involved with Outreach might be the hands and feet. Those of us involved with Education might be the respiratory and digestive systems (providing needed nutrients to the body). Those of us involved in Administration might be the nervous system (a system devoted to information processing).

At Heritage, our Administration ministry is busy processing information such as:

• Inquiries  from the community about who we are

• Family news and needs via the bulletin and website

• Financial information

• Fundraising/Community events via flyers, news ads, etc.

• Family directory details (addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, etc.)

The communication that takes place in the nervous system is critical to the workings of the body. Similarly, the communication that takes place in and about this church is critical to the workings of this body. The Administration ministry is a vital part of Heritage and we would like to broaden our scope and take on new tasks. We’ve got some ideas and could use more input and help. If you feel that God has blessed you with the gift of Administration and you would like to help us grow this ministry, please come and join us.
